Translation stays on your iPhone
Text recognition and translation run on your iPhone. The app does not send your translation images, camera frames or recognized text to our support service.
Apple may need an internet connection to download languages before they can be used on your iPhone.
Your images and settings
Photos access is limited to the images you choose. The app does not automatically save translations to your photo library.
Closing a result clears that translation. Shortcuts use temporary files while processing. Temporary shortcut text files expire after five minutes and are removed when the shortcut cache is next used.
Your chosen language and setup preferences stay on your iPhone. Images or text you choose to share are handled by the destination you select.
Purchases
Apple handles subscription payments. The app reads Apple-verified purchase status on your device to enable translation. We do not receive your card details or send your purchase history to our own server or to Crisp.
Restore Purchases checks the Apple Account used for your subscription. You do not need to create an Onscreen Translate account.
Tracking and analytics
The app does not use advertising trackers or send translation activity to an analytics service. We do not sell your personal information or use your translations to train AI models.
Support uses the internet
Opening chat connects to Crisp, our support provider. Messages, attachments and contact details you choose to provide are sent to Crisp so we can help you. Crisp also handles session identifiers and connection information to operate the conversation.
Support conversations are separate from temporary translations. Closing the translation or the app does not delete your support conversation.
Service providers and your choices
Crisp processes support information on our behalf, which may involve processing outside your country. Apple handles purchases and language downloads under its own privacy terms.
Support is optional. You can translate without opening chat or providing contact details. Camera access can be turned off in iPhone Settings. Clearing a translation does not remove copies you chose to save or share through other apps.
Visiting this website
Cloudflare hosts and protects this website. It processes technical request information, such as your IP address and browser information, to deliver pages and help prevent abuse. This website does not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts or contact forms. Email links open your chosen email app.

Questions or deletion requests
Email support@onscreentranslate.app to contact the operator of Onscreen Translate about privacy, request a copy or correction of your support information, or ask for its deletion. You can also ask in support chat. We may need to confirm which conversation is yours.
We keep support information while it is needed to answer your request and handle related follow-up, or where retention is required by law. You can request deletion at any time. Provider backups may take longer to expire.
